One main reason is their rejection of a
particular part of the Nicene
Creed (which creed amounts to deciding doctrine by consensus
rather than by inspiration): that the three members of the Godhead
are literally one in substance and not three distinct beings. It's
odd that such a doctrine is “mainstream” even though it is
unequivocally disputed by the Holy Bible itself.
